Gilbert’s Potoroo

This little marsupial is the most endangered in Australia and is arguable the world’s most endangered marsupial. Roughly the size of a rabbit they are the smallest members of the kangaroo family.
Did you know that
• Gilbert’s potoroos mostly eat fungi in the wild but are usually fed insects, fruit and mealworms in captivity
• In 2016 there were only 45 individuals found
• They are preyed upon by foxes and feral cats but their biggest threat is fire which destroys their habitat
