100 Day Project Day 50 : Blue footed booby
Day 50/100
We made it to 50!! This is the last intentional post I'm doing for the 100 day project this year. And as we're fundraising for Galapagos Conservation Trust I felt like it was fitting to end with one of my favourite Galapagos animals - the blue footed booby bird!
Blue footed boobies get their distinctive colour of their feet from their diet (much like flamingos) and their name "booby" comes from the Spanish word "bobo" which means foolish as they are pretty clumsy on land! They have a wingspan of around 5ft (around 152cm). Both males and females have blue feet and the males have a great mating dance where they high step and stomp to draw attention to their lovely blue legs.
