52 Species: Smooth Newt
It’s #wildlifewednesday! For 2020 I’m taking part in the #52speciesproject and learning about a different animal that lives in London and sharing what I’ve learnt about them on Wednesdays. We’re 9 weeks in (check out my previous blog posts if you’ve missed any!). This week I’ve been learning all about the smooth newt. It’s one of 4 main types of newt and often confused for the palmate newt. You can tell them apart from their bellies, smooth newts bellies are orange but palmate newts bellies are yellow!
