A conspiracy of lemurs

A conspiracy of lemurs

I forgot to post this last week (my brain is like a sieve at the minute!). My ring tailed lemurs for #sketchwithnds!
The collective noun for a group of lemurs is a “conspiracy” (which I think is brilliant!). Ring tailed lemurs in particular live in large groups of up to 30 as they’re highly social!
Sadly they are endangered and only 2,000 were estimated living in the wild in 2017. Habitat destruction is the culprit here though they are also hunted for their meat and kept as pets. But they do reproduce readily and have huge populations in zoos which does give hope for the future of the species! .
