Faunatober 2020 : Zebra Shark

Happy Oct 1st, everyone! I don’t know about you but I love this time of the year so much - the crisp mornings, the cosy twinkly lights, the drawing challenges 😉 I really struggled to pick a prompt list for this month but I ended up choosing Kate Kennedy
’s #faunatober2020 list - let’s be honest, as soon as I saw it was all about animals it was a bit of a no-brainer!

I’m upping my game this year by challenging myself to use ONLY my black Indian ink - in various stages of being watered down. Indian ink isn’t something I’m used to and the unpredictability of it when it’s watered down reminds me a lot of watercolour so this is a fun way for me to experiment!

Today’s animal is the zebra shark! One of my favourite sharks ever. They lose their zebra like stripes as they get older and end up with a spotted design across their skins. Sadly they are classed as endangered and tend to be heavily fished throughout its range.

Let me know if you’re a zebra shark fan in the comments!
