Inktober Day 11: Lowland streaked tenrec
Day 11; lowland streaked tenrec
This little critter is the lowland streaked tenrec, found in Madagascar they have quills similar to a porcupine. If the lowland streaked tenrecs get separated from each other they can use their quills to communicate with each other. They’re considered to be an exotic delicacy and are hunted for their meat. Because of their short lifespans in captivity they’re rarely kept in zoos which is a shame as it means very few people know about them.
