Day 22: Malagasy Leaf Nosed Snake
Into the final stretch!! How’s everyone still going with their inktober prompts? Today’s animal is the Malagasy leaf nosed snake, endemic to Madagascar they are a pretty chilled snake by all accounts! Females have more ornate leaf-like noses, but I wasn’t able to find any good reference images to draw one so I’ve drawn a male instead here. They’re born with their leaf nosed appendages which suggests that they have a specific function but it’s unclear exactly what it is. What do you think it’d be for?
