Inktober Day 7: Glaucus Atlanticus

Inktober Day 7: Glaucus Atlanticus

Day 7: Glaucus Atlanticus

Possibly my favourite so far of inktober! Also really glad I did my sketching and prep last month as it’s saving me so much time. Super quick facts today as (if you’ve seen my instagram stories) things are going a bit pear shaped at home today!

The Glaucus Atlanticus is a nudibranch, also known as the blue dragon (they’re absolutely stunning creatures!). They are in fact sea slugs and move around by floating upside down and letting the current take them away. They feast on poisonous jellyfish such as the Portuguese Man O’ War and picking one up can potentially give you a fatal sting as they store the venomous stingers from the jellyfish to use as protection.
