Love Butterfly Challenge: Crowned Hairstreak
Wet on wet is not my favourite watercolour technique! 🙈 this is butterfly number 3 of the #LoveButterflyChallenge, the Crowned Hairstreak.
This gorgeous butterfly has black and blue-green wings when you look at it opened up but if you glimpse the underside of the wings you’ll get a gorgeous flash of green! Rather than choose one side or the other I decided to paint both sides of this specimen. Do you prefer the black-blue side or the green side?
