Making pals at Kew Gardens!
I can't believe how lucky Natelle and I were to find these amazing Chinese water dragons at Kew Gardens last week! We literally just walked around the corner to find this guy surrounded by adoring fans right on the edge of the path.
These guys came to Kew after having been seized from smugglers at customs. Though Chinese water dragons aren't endangered, their popularity as pets does mean that they're regularly collected in the wild, and that combined with the gradual destruction of their forest habitat, means they could end up fighting for survival.
