Why is everything limited edition?
Ever wondered why I make everything limited edition?
When I first started my business I didn't set out with the intention of making things limited edition at all! At first I made these badges at home using a badge machine and they went great! People loved them. So I made more. And those sold, so I made more. And then those sold a little slower but I still made more. And more. And more. And slowly the sales stopped.
I'm STILL selling the last of these badges - even after having decided to discontinue them back in late 2019. The demand for them just stopped, and that's ok! It was just a big learning curve for me.
Since then I always try to make sure I don't order more than what I think will sell. That means my product runs are smaller than other indie businesses. I might only have 50 or 100 of a product and that's it. But also more eco friendly - I'm never creating more than the demand for that item so I'm never ending up with loads and loads of leftover stock and using resources that could be used for other things.
So that's the story of why I make everything limited edition! Besides it makes it more fun to have smaller more exclusive runs. That means if you're lucky enough to snag something that sells out super fast that you're one of the few people who own that product I made!
Oh and if you want to buy some badges, they're in stock on the website and Etsy.... just saying.... 😝
